Save the date for Canada’s largest and best attended National Animal Welfare Conference. April 6-8, 2021
With a fall mini event on December 15, 2020
Humane Canada™ is proud to present a spin-off event to Canada’s largest animal welfare conference in the fall of 2020.
The COVID-19 pandemic has drastically changed the way we do business, and the animal welfare sector is no exception. We want to support humane societies and SPCAs and their staff by providing them with the tools and support to care for their mental health and navigate the waters of working in a pandemic world.
The mini event will be hosted online on Tuesday, December 15 for half a day (exact times to be announced soon). It will include a session on mental health, a mindfulness activity that may include our companion animals, and a session on working effectively from home.
Staff and volunteers of humane societies and SPCAs that are members of Humane Canada™ will have access to discounted registration, and all attendees, regardless of their membership status, will receive a discount code to be applied towards the 2021 National Animal Welfare Conference registration fee (hosted online Apr 6 – 8, 2021).

About the National Animal Welfare Conference:
The National Animal Welfare Conference, NAWC, is the biggest and best-attended animal welfare conference in Canada, held in a different Canadian city every spring since 2014. In 2021 we are expecting to gather over 1,200 attendees online from across Canada and abroad.
The conference is an annual professional development and community-building event organized by Humane Canada™, the federation of humane societies and SPCAs.
An online conference format helps attendees, sponsors and exhibitors save on travel and accommodation costs, helping expand reach and networking opportunities between participants. Moreover, all sessions will be available in the online conference platform for 3 months post conference. Re-watch your favourite sessions at your own pace and on your own time.
The COVID-19 pandemic has drastically changed the way we do business and the animal welfare sector is no exception. On top of hosting NAWC in the spring of 2021, Humane Canada™ is also hosting a mini event on December 15, 2020 to discuss topics related to mental health.
