Rachel Cote is the Director of Programs at Alberta Animal Rescue Crew Society (AARCS), where she oversees a number of the organization’s critical initiatives, including the dog and cat programs, volunteer engagement, and community outreach efforts. Her strategic leadership has helped guide the organization through periods of rapid growth and innovation.
Rachel’s journey in animal welfare began in 2010 when she became a foster home with AARCS. Two years later, she transitioned into a full-time role as Volunteer Manager, playing a key role in building a thriving volunteer community during the launch of AARCS’ first shelter. Over the years, Rachel has continued to advance within the organization, driven by her deep commitment to animal advocacy and community empowerment.
Rachel holds a Certificate in Human Resources, a Business Administration Diploma with a major in Human Resources and is a Certified Talent Management Practitioner (CTMP). She is currently pursuing her Chartered Professional in Human Resources (CPHR) designation as a CPHR Candidate.
Over the years, Rachel has been actively involved in numerous disaster responses across Alberta, providing support to both animals and the people who care for them. She also contributes as a member of the Alberta Companion Animal Disaster Response committee.
Beyond her role at AARCS, Rachel serves on a city board and runs a small business that provides consulting services to small and medium-sized businesses and non-profits, supporting them in areas such as policy development, HR strategy, and organizational growth.
In her personal time, Rachel enjoys traveling, hiking, and spin classes. She shares her home with her husband and a beloved crew of AARCS rescue animals.
