Nearly six dozen dogs were seized from a home in Winnipeg on Wednesday morning by the Humane Society, marking the largest animal seizure in the city’s history.
Discovered in "inhumane conditions" with severe health issues, the 68 dogs, mainly small breeds, were rescued by Animal Service officers and police. The Humane Society, now caring for over 100 dogs, seeks public financial support to cover an estimated $150,000 in vet bills. They’ve raised over $35,000 of their $75,000 goal so far. Professional dog groomers are also asked to volunteer. Residents are reminded to spay and neuter their pets, with low-cost programs available.
