Note: Humane Canada does not currently have a membership program for individuals, but you can join us in our mission to improve the lives of Canada's animals by helping to fund our work.

Requirements to become a Member:

  • Representation

    You want Humane Canada to represent you and all of our members at the national level.

  • Registration

    Your organization is a registered Canadian not-for-profit or charity.

  • Incorporation

    You have been incorporated for a minimum of 3 years, either provincially or federally.

  • Mandate

    You have an animal welfare mandate for a given geographic area, provincial body, or city.

  • Authority

    You have the legal authority and a mandate to conduct cruelty investigations.

  • Industry Standards

    Your animal shelter strives to meet industry-recognized shelter standards and guidelines.

What is Humane Canada's Associate Membership?

We want to build a more Humane country with you!

Become an associate member and add your voice to the largest animal welfare community in Canada. Associates enjoy many of the same perks as our members such as discounts, participation in events, access to research and more. While Associate members do not have the right to vote within the Federation, you still have a voice at the table.

  • Municipal animal control agencies

  • Spay/neuter or feral cat welfare groups

  • Transition houses & issue cased organizations
