Waterloo regional police issued a stern warning to pet owners after receiving over 10 calls this month about animals left in vehicles.
With warm weather ahead, police urge drivers to never leave pets or children unattended in cars, as temperatures inside can become dangerously high even with windows cracked. If you see an animal in distress in a hot car, call 911 and do not attempt to enter the vehicle. Recently, officers rescued a kitten from a car at Fairview Mall in Kitchener, resulting in an offence notice for the owner.
