Canada’s ban on animal testing of cosmetics lauded by B.C. organizations

Health Canada declared a nationwide prohibition on cosmetic and product testing on animals, aligning with similar measures already implemented in Europe, the UK, and South Korea, thus putting an end to what has been deemed a "cruel and unnecessary" practice.

This decision has garnered approval from at least one animal welfare organization in British Columbia.

On a national scale, the CEO of Humane Canada asserts that the legislative shift represents a significant victory and reflects the culmination of more than a decade of efforts by humane societies.
