Nearly 700 people and their dogs joined the Calgary Humane Society's annual Dog Jog at North Glenmore Park on Saturday. The event aims to end animal cruelty and fund programs for education, protection, and rehabilitation of animals.
"It supports our protection and investigations team, helping hundreds of animals stay safe and with their owners," said executive director Carrie Fritz. The five-kilometer walk or jog includes activities, informational booths, and refreshments. Bryan Goehringer’s family participated in memory of their dogs, praising the Humane Society for aiding both animals and families facing hardships.
