Health Canada to completely ban use of strychnine poison by September

Health Canada has announced its intention to enact a comprehensive prohibition on a potent toxin commonly employed for predator management. This decision follows the conclusion of public consultations regarding the utilization of strychnine.

“Animal welfare groups, including Humane Canada, the Humane Society International, the International Fund for Animal Welfare and Animal Justice, oppose strychnine”.
