Livestock associations in Canada are advocating for increased adaptability in Hours of Service regulations, contending that electronic logging devices (ELDs) fail to consider factors crucial for animal welfare.
During various sessions of the House of Commons Standing Committee on Agriculture and Agri-Food, representatives from industry groups have highlighted the difficulties arising when truckers exhaust their allowable driving hours before reaching final destinations or designated feed and water locations for livestock along their routes.
