‘Long overdue’: Cosmetic testing on animals now banned in Canada

Following extensive advocacy and numerous commitments, Canada has officially banned cosmetic testing on animals. The legislation was passed by the Canadian government on Thursday as part of the Budget Implementation Act (Bill C-47).

Additionally, the sale of cosmetics that utilize new animal testing data to verify product safety, as well as any false or misleading labeling regarding animal testing for cosmetics, is now prohibited.
