The Manitoba government has announced significant enhancements to animal welfare measures, including the establishment of a new provincial veterinarian position focused on this area.
This is part of the broader Northern and Remote Veterinary Care Initiative, which also includes a financial contribution of $200,000 to the Winnipeg Humane Society to expand its One Health Program. This initiative aims to boost mobile spay and neuter services, particularly targeting northern, rural, and Indigenous communities to improve access to essential veterinary services.
Humane Canada is working to make critical progress toward a future where animals are protected in every emergency. Together, we’re laying the foundation for Canada’s first coordinated response system that includes animals.
