Orphaned Sea Otter Pup in B.C. in Critical Condition, Undergoing 24-Hour Care

An orphaned sea otter pup found near Tofino, B.C., is receiving 24-hour care at the Vancouver Aquarium after being brought in critical condition.
The female pup, unable to swim, hunt, or regulate her body temperature, is being closely monitored, with staff and volunteers providing bottle feedings every two hours. Despite her lethargy from separation, she is eating well and showing cautious signs of improvement. The Vancouver Aquarium Marine Mammal Rescue Society is seeking donations to cover rising rehabilitation costs and advises the public to report distressed marine mammals to authorities instead of attempting rescues themselves.
