Province Removes Horses from Manitoba Rescue

Manitoba authorities are removing horses from Barefoot Ranch in Teulon. A provincial spokesperson confirmed the action to ensure the animals' safety and proper care amid an ongoing investigation.

Ranch founder Sherri Anderson stated over 150 animals were seized, including horses, chickens, and other livestock, though her pets were spared. Anderson acknowledged past issues with animal care but claimed they were addressed. Animal welfare advocate Kayla Wheeler, who has long criticized the ranch, expressed relief and validation over the seizures, though she hoped for better outcomes. The ranch's website notes over 70 horses, donkeys, and mules were rescued last year.
