World Animal Protection Canada has launched an interactive transparency tracking tool to monitor captive wildlife incidents in Canada. This launch coincides with the seasonal opening of numerous underregulated roadside zoos.
The tool aims to enhance transparency around Canada's captive wildlife issues by documenting zoonotic disease outbreaks, escapes, attacks, and other incidents. It is the most comprehensive database on captive wildlife incidents created by any organization or government in Canada to date.
