As days get shorter, more cars are sharing the roads with wildlife during their most active hours. Our member, BC SPCA, is reminding drivers how a few simple precautions can help reduce the risk of wildlife collisions and keep animals safer:

🚗 Slow down, especially at dawn, dusk and in low-visibility areas
👀 Scan roadsides for movement or shining eyes
🐾 If you see one animal, watch for others nearby
🍎 Never throw food scraps or garbage from your vehicle
📣 Avoid honking or flashing your lights at wildlife
🚦 Watch for brake lights ahead, which may signal an animal nearby

A little extra caution can help keep both animals and people safer.
