Teresa Suliga, and her sister, Elizabeth Seremak, were fatally struck by a vehicle on a rural road in Chatham-Kent while trying to save a turtle. "They always saved everything," Teresa's daughter Dorothy said, highlighting their lifelong love for animals.
The two women, ages 68 and 66, were known for their kind and compassionate nature. Despite the tragedy, Dorothy stressed forgiveness and urged public safety on rural roads. She expressed gratitude to those who assisted at the scene and hoped her mother and aunt would be remembered for their kindness and love for all living things.
