  On March 17, 2025, in the Ontario Court of Justice in the Town of Georgina, Katelyn Thomas pled guilty to one count of permitting animals to be in distress contrary to section 15(2) of the PAWS Act.Katelyn Thomas was fined a total of $1,000, exclusive of the victim surcharge. She was also required to surrender any animals within 10 days of sentencing, and further prohibited from owning or being in care or custody of animals for a 10-year period. She is required to inform Animal Welfare Services of changes to address for the duration of the court order.
